Matthew J. Peterson, Attorney

Matthew joined Friend & Associates in August 2014.  Born and raised in Leavenworth, Kansas he graduated with Dean’s Honors from Washburn University School of Law in 2014.  He served as a student intern in the Washburn School of Law Small Business and Non-Profit Transactional Clinic and through Washburn School of Law’s Judicial Externship Program was placed in the Honorable Julie A. Robinson’s chambers of the United States District Court, District of Kansas, as a student intern.  Matthew received his Bachelor of Arts in History from Washburn University in 2011. Matthew represents clients in the areas of estate and trust taxation, estate planning, probate and trust administration, charitable and not-for-profit planning, and business succession planning.

While not at work, Matthew enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Katherine, a photographer, and their two dogs, Arcade and Rosy.  Matthew also avidly enjoys hiking and backpacking with friends and family, traveling and watching his favorite hockey teams.
